The becoming human of the eternal Son and Word of God in Jesus of Nazareth. The Incarnation is the ontological ground of creation’s dignity and salvation: God assumes the fullness of human nature, including the body and material existence. It is also the model for mission: the Church enters culture from within, not imposing from without.
