(Mystery, Mysterion)
A visible, ecclesial act in which invisible divine realities are made present and participable. In the Orthodox tradition there are seven chief sacraments (Baptism, Chrismation, Eucharist, Confession, Holy Orders, Marriage, Holy Unction), though the Eucharist holds primacy as the constitutive act of the Church. The whole Church is, in a broader sense, a mystery.
