(Palamite Theology)
The theology of St. Gregory Palamas (1296–1359) defending the reality of the saints’ vision of God against Barlaam of Calabria. Palamas articulated the distinction between God’s unknowable essence (ousia) and His truly God-given, uncreated energies (energeiai), through which genuine communion with God is possible.
