The one God who exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in perfect communion. The Trinitarian dogma is the ontological foundation of Zizioulas’ entire theology: being is relational; unity and diversity are equally primordial; the person is not secondary to substance. The Trinity reveals that communion is the ultimate nature of reality.
