(Koinonia)
The central theological concept of Zizioulas’ work. Communion is not merely moral fellowship but an ontological reality: the mode of God’s own Trinitarian existence and the ground of all creaturely being. The Church is koinonia; the Eucharist constitutes it; personhood is realized through it. Individualism is the antithesis of communion.
