The Second Coming of Christ at the end of history, when the Kingdom of God will be fully revealed, the dead will be raised, and God will be “all in all.” The Parousia is the eschatological horizon of all Christian life and the event the Eucharist anticipates. The cry “Maranatha!” (“Come, Lord!”) is its liturgical expression.
