Anamnesis

The liturgical remembrance through which the Church makes present the saving events of Christ. In the Eucharist, anamnesis is both a recollection of the past and the remembrance of the future Kingdom revealed in Christ. It expresses the Church’s eschatological mode of existence, in which the end (telos) gives meaning to history.
